Introduction
There are multiple instances where hosting a Minecraft server in the cloud using “shared” hosting makes sense, for example: a Christmas Minecraft server with your friends, a small - medium sized communtiy server that can scale out to large networks the size of Hypixel and beyond with your own dedicated hardware.
The latter is not something we cover in depth within our wiki but some solutions provided here will scale to those levels.
When searching for providers, we recommend you take into consideration the following:
- In which country will most of your players be? e.g. If all of your players are European, don’t host in the US, India or Aus
- What kind of server are you looking to run? e.g. modded or plugins
- How many players are you looking to sustain during peak times? e.g. I will have me plus 4 friends every evening
- How much are you looking to spend per month to host the server? e.g. I want to spend no more than 15 euros a month
With that in mind it is worth checking out the following articles to help you make the right decision for your use case.

| Hardware | /deploy/hardware | The second most important decision is determining how powerful you need the hardware to be for the work you’re wanting to push on it. |
